Trojan Lass in a canter @ Mornington

January 16th, 2009

4yo Mare Trojan Lass (Helissio x Dux of the Class) was able to get her 2nd career win in emphatic style at Mornington on Friday.

After a very good run at Sandown a week before over a shorter trip, Trojan Lass was sent out favourite in the F&M 0-62 over the more suitable distance of 1520mtrs.

The result seemed never in doubt throughout the race and when Nicholas Ryan tracked her in nicely and pulled her out 3 wide at the 400m pole, the race looked to be her's for the taking.

Trogan Lass rounded the turn and steamed home over the top of the field for a much deserved win, eased down for a comfortable 1 length win.

Congratulation to the Whittenbury family again on yet another great win for the stable in their ever familiar racing colours and also for their new addition to the family, a little baby girl.

The following day THR was able to salute again with 1st starter 3yo Gidley (Umatilla x Borage) in a 3yo Maiden at Bairnsdale.
Jumping out perfectly, Gidley led throughout and on the home turn, still had a kick left and was able to break through for his maiden win at his first time to the racetrack.

This continued the terrific run of THR in 2009, with 3 winners in a week and plenty more to come for the stable, with Fast Eddie, Trojan Lass, The Clown and
Little Boy Blue all looking for more wins in the coming weeks.
