Little Boy Blue makes it two!

August 3rd, 2009

Little Boy Blue (Beckett x Stanza Blue) kicked of the new season for THR in great style when he won at Echuca over 1416mtrs in a 0-72 on a heavy track.

After 2 very encouraging runs this prepration, after being gelded, Little Boy Blue seemed to find the perfect race, and he didn't disappoint, getting to line 1st, even when bumped and impeded nearing the post.

After settling perfectly, 1 back/1 out, Little Boy Blue always looked to have the race at his mercy and rounding the turn when up and coming apprentice Jarrod Fry pulled out from the back of the leaders, he always looked the winner.

A bumping duel was created down the straight, but Little Boy Blue always seemed to be the horse travelling better and gapped eventual runner up Lanefrost in the final 50mtrs.

It was another great result from this ever improving gelding, who seems to be maturing with every run.
Defianlty one to follow.

On the same day, a few races earlier, lightly raced 3yo filly Ina De Lemma (Delago Brom x Tycoon Emma) gave the impression that a win is just around the corner, when she came from the back to finish hard for a very good 4th at only her third time to the racetrack.

Considering she missed the start by more than 4 lengths, a win looks likely in her next few starts, if not at her next start.

This weekend also looks promising with
Class Prevails finding a nice race to hopefully continue the good start to the new season by THR.
