Little Boy Blue lights up the Valley.....Again!
November 13th, 2009
In what can only be described as a stunning performance,
Little Boy Blue (Beckett x Stanza Blue) won in such sensational style that it had everyone saying "You don't see wins like at the Valley too often!!!"
Perfectly placed and weighted in a (0-82) race over 1523mtrs at Moonee Valley on Friday night, Little Boy Blue defied a torrid run that was virtually 3-4 wide throughout to prevail and stamp himself as a horse to follow as he steps up in grade.
Racing in the all white MV Silks, Little Boy Blue jumped well with the field, but never had a chance to get across to the rails and was camped 4 wide from the onset.
Apprentice Jockey Nathan Rose(a3) seemed to be in an unwinnable position from the 1000m post onwards, but rounding the turn, Bluey, in his trade mark style, fought hard and finished better than anyone getting to the post 1st a length ahead of the 2nd horse in terrific fashion.

Tommy was extremely pleased with the performance of the ever improving Little Boy Blue and thinks there will be bigger wins in the near future for this 4yo.
This victory followed another impressive win on Monday at Colac by Gesink (Snaadee x Bonfleur) at only his 2nd time to the race track.
Gesink always looked the winner and led from the word go, and even being pressured to the turn, Gesink still had plenty left over the 1000mtrs sprint, clearing away from the field and easing up to a 3 length win at the post in what was a classy performance.
Gesink now steps out @ MV this Friday night where Tommy expects him to run well, even though it is a big step up in grade from his last race.
THR is looking like having a very fruitful month, with plenty in the stable looking at being in the finish in there next few starts.
3yo Filly Odorata has really been pleasing Tommy with her improvement and he expects her to run well when she steps up to 2000mtrs for the 1st time @ Seymour on Thursday and she is definatley one to follow over the summer period.
This Saturday @ Sandown also looks promising for THR with the very talented filly Miss Octopussy and her full brother, the stakes winning Minnesota Shark placed in races where Tommy is sure they'll be competitive and run well.
