Tommy shows class with Maiden win for Have a Shot.

Tommy Hughes pulled of a terrific training performance with recent stable addition 5yo Have a Shot (Regal Shot x Dividend) at Benalla at what was his 1st run for the stable.
      
Previously trained by Brendon McCarthy, Have a Shot was transferred over last year to THR and has been given plenty of time to grow and mature.

Have a Shot jumped out well with the field and was slotted in perfectly just in behind the speed by Dean Holland.

Rounding the turn, it always looked like Dean had a good hold and after straightening Have a Shot let down well and had the race in his keeping a long way out to get to the post first and break his maiden.

Considering it was the first time to the track for Have a Shot for over 18 months, it was a super training effort by Tommy to have him ready to win 1st up.

The good runs continued for THR at Benalla, with lighty raced and promising 3yo Alfiler (Pins x Quiescent) putting in a great performance 1st up over 1400mtrs, finishing hard for 3rd, being 3-4 the entire trip and also the ever consistant, yet unlucky Major Rocketman, who missed the start by 2-3 lengths and finished 2nd yet again....
