Luck is finally on Shrogginet’s side

July 12th, 2008

After having no luck at his previous 3 starts over the hurdles, Shrogginet (Pentire - Alacrity) finally had some luck and was able to take out $100,000 Macdonald Steeple at Moonee Valley on Saturday in typical gritty fashion.

Ridden perfectly throughout by Craig Durden, Shrogginet travelled well throughout and had to fight hard to the line to hold out a fast finishing Frenzilian.

After being caught wide the entire trip at MV two starts back and being brought down by a falling horse in the Grand National Hurdle, a change of luck was on the cards and Shrogginet didn’t disappoint, taking out the race by a short half head to get a much deserved win.

Shrogginet will now head to the Hiskens at MV in 2 weeks for his final run for this jumps season.
