Indiana Junior and his first Crusade!

October 10th, 2008

Indiana Junior (Delago Brom-Currabahah) broke through for his maiden win at Moonee Valley over 1600mtrs in terrific style on Friday night.

Indiana Junior jumped out well and was able to cross to the rails and take up the running from the outset.  Leading was new territory for the lightly raced gelding, but he seemed to settle well for J.Winks and he looked to relax perfectly in front.

He travelled well down the back and coming to the turn, there looked like there still might be a kick left.  The field came at him, but his class shone through and his was able to hold on and get to the post first for a well deserved win.

This well bred gelding looks destined for bigger things and it looks like the more ground he's going to get over, the better.

Later that night, Mock (Runyon-Quiz) was very unlikely not to break his run of outs, and give Tommy a city double for the night, when he was unlikely beaten, being squeezed and held up on the turn, flying home out wide for an all "too familiar" second.
